T͏e͏e͏n͏ L͏o͏u͏n͏g͏e͏ i͏s͏ a safe, fun, moderated, youth operated Forum and chat room. We have weekly trivia and Uno game nights on Saturday. Teen Lounge is open to all youth, and parents are welcome.
Subject: Nuclear power vs solar and wind power for energy Thu Apr 08, 2021 4:39 pm
This is for my school project which is comparing nuclear plants and using them for energy, versus wind and solar farms for power. Although nuclear plants are 2.5 to 3.5 more reliable than wind and solar plants, plus they also have 1.5 to 2 times the capacity, a lot of people think we should go all green for our energy uses. My survey is which source of energy do you think is the best to use in the future for our country.

I am going by safety. Unless a turbine falls apart, or a solar panel crashes on someone's house, they are more safe than a nuclear plant that can release large amounts of radiation.

In Brazil we use mostly oil and gas. Nuclear plants only provide 3 percent of electricity for the 2 nuclear reactors we have. We do use solar and wind energy too, and water produced energy.
