As a mother of 3 teen drivers, the headline released today in Illinois is a bit concerning.
"Illinois vehicle fatalities highest they've been in 17 years".
To all you teens out there driving, be careful, stay off your cell phone, wear your seat belt and follow the law that applies to your license as to what your graduated license allows you to do, with the passengers you can have, as well as the time limits.
I would hate to lose anyone here to a traffic accident that could have been prevented.
Springfield, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — According to an annual report released Tuesday, Jan. 18, by the Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety, Illinois is lacking when it comes to traffic safety laws.
“We have a crisis right now in deaths on the highway, on accidents, that needs to be dealt with," U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Illinois, said at a press conference introducing the report.
Fatal traffic incidents are the highest they've been in Illinois in 17 years.
In 2021, there were 1,361 traffic fatalities across the state.

Thank you Sherry for posting this. I think all of the teenagers need a reminder, as well as us adults to be focused and not distracted while in our vehicles.
